A downloadable game for Windows

The Game

In Crossmoth you and up to 3 of your friends embody 4 streetlamps to guide a moth through a labyrinthine garden. By switching the streetlamps on and off, attract the moth in the desired position. Guide it to its children hidden at the center of the garden.

The Controllers

Interact with a setup made of 4 lights and 4 light sensor. By default, the lights are on. Cover a light source to switch off the corresponding streetlamp in the game and to attract the moth towards the remaining lights.

With the controllers, the game is quite challenging. Good communication is required and moving in coordination is tricky. Manage the moth’s life by escaping the labyrinth's dangers, like diving crows and falling pine cones.

The base version uses an Arduino (COM6). The program is in the .zip.

There's also a ZQSD version for playing without an Arduino, but the game isn't designed to be played this way and will probably be less fun and easier.

Intention and context

This game was made during our “included and connected” workshop. We created an Arduino controller for the occasion, with light sensors and lamps that allow the player to interact. The lamps are removable so that they can be attached to the player and light up the sensor or not.
